Links this week: leadership, startups, international, islam
Some webpages I’ve been reading this week that I thought I’d share.
1. US News and World Report Special Report on ‘America’s Best Leaders
Don’t necessarily agree with all the assessments but I love to follow the leadership conversations. There are lessons to be learned from those in other disciplines and even those we may disagree with.
2. The 18 Mistakes That Kill Startups
Interesting thoughts relating to business startups. Definitely cross pollination of ideas available for whatever type of ’startup’ you might be doing.
3. Islamica Magazine
“Islamica aims to broaden perspectives on Islam and to provide a voice for Muslims to articulate their concerns while establishing cross-cultural relations between Muslims and their neighbors and co-religionists” Interesting magazine. I’m considering getting a subscription or at least watching for it on newstands to better understand some of the Muslim ideals.
4. Word Without Borders
‘The Online Magazine for International Literature’. Great resource for new books about international places and topics.
5. The Prophet’s Letters to Christians
Letters written by Muhammad to Christians over 1300 years ago. Translation of two different letters to the “Monks of St. Catherine Monastery” and the “Assyrian Christians”. For those willing to read, a different take than you normally hear in Western media. (Never take a single source and believe it applies to a whole religion or people group. Read, learn, process, have a broader understanding.)
